Japanese Style

I have always been obsessed with Japanese fashion! Its so cutting edge, artistic, and a mix and match of various styles and genres. The ladies in Japan are known as lolitas, which means a seductive and sexy young woman.

Their styles are grouped into 4 main categories:
Gothic Lolita- Influenced by victorian goth style, which includes; dark colors, crosses, bats, and spiders as well as other popular gothic icons.
Sweet Lolita- Is a childlike style, influenced by baby animals, fairy tale themes, and innocent attire such as Hello Kitty; pastel colors, with headbows and cute purses.

Punk Lolita- An experimental look, with a deconstructed or crazy style while maintaining the lolita silhouette.

Classic Lolita- A traditional, classy and business like style.

Styling: Donell Jones "Love Like This"

This past summer, I worked on styling a video by R&B legend Donell Jones, for his first single off his new album "Lyrics". Being a fan of his music, it was exciting enough to be working on his project but then experiencing what a cool and down to earth person he and his girlfriend were, made the entire shoot that much more pleasurable. The overall energy was great and doing it with the "Blue Collar" styling squad put the icing on the cake.
Shoutout to Catrece, D and Jasmine! xoxo

Artist to Lookout For: Ninci Ismail

Ninci is a Singer/Songwriter/Producer and Fashionista

Born in Egypt but raised on the Westcoast. Her middle-eastern background and love of pop r&b music can be heard in such songs as "Rock it just a lil bit". She has been composing her own music since she was a young girl and has since been dedicated to her craft. Her ability to to listen to a beat and immediately write and dream up a song along with a distinguished style, makes her a future reigning pop princess.

Please go listen to her music at http://www.theindie.biz/artists/songs/42448/6919#6 and let me know what you think!

Designer to LooK out for 2011: Jeremy Scott

Jeremy is one of my favorite designers! His artistic pieces are worn by Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna. Thee Karl Lagerfeld was quoted saying that, Mr. Scott would be the only person that would succeed as a designer at the House of Chanel. If you ask me, those are big shoes to fill! His innovative mind transcends beyond fashion and builds fantasies in which anyone can create their own character. You can rock his clothing on the streets or on the red carpet, at a concert or at dinner, above everything you can become your own person in his collections.
